THIS JOURNAL IS POINTLESS!!

_{I DO NOT claim to be an authority on art, so if you've come here just to tell me off for my opinions, you're wasting your time. I already know I can't possibly define "what's art", but I can define what is art for me, and that's what I'm doing here. Good day.}


One of the most hotly debated topics on good old Deviant Art is that of people posting flat out porn and getting away with it. I myself have grown weary of sending in a report for a blatantly pornographic image and having it come back "no action taken" So If any staff member might happen to stumble upon this journal, just hear me out on what I personally consider to be an artistic image, and what is smut and garbage.

This is an Artistic Nude portrait. It's got everything needed for a good shot. Good lighting, good concept, and dedication to art. Just read the comments on how much effort it took to put together this one shot.

Image two:

This is also an Artistic nude portrait. It's simple, yet effective at conveying a degree of emotion. It's quite a lovely piece if I do say so myself.

Image three:

This, is garbage. This is a snapshot taken with poor lighting and no real vision of art in mind. This belongs in a "special" album and not on Deviant Art in my humble little opinion.

Image four: IT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN REMOVED!! It was basically a woman licking another woman.

This, is smut. Pure and simple. This doesn't look to invoke anything but lust in the viewer. It's not even erotic art in my opinion, because that would require some degree of imagination. This is just one woman performing implied cunnilingus. They may have taken the time to make it look like a professional shot, but they certainly didn't put much effort into the subject matter of the piece. Something like this belongs in a dirty magazine.
